Media Manipulation in the City of Riviera Beach

On September 20, 2017 the City of Riviera Beach’s council made a motion to fire city manager Jonathon Evans. The motion was carried and passed by Councilwoman Lynn Hubbard, Councilman Terence Davis, and Councilwoman Dawn Pardo. Immediately after the public demanded a reason for the firing because Mayor Masters and Councilwoman Kashamba Anderson was for the City Manager. This reaction adds to the fuel and the questioning of the council’s decision.
Meanwhile, I was in Pennsylvania and watching the news, seeing a “City in Turmoil”, I wanted to help. I packed up my children and drove 17 hours to reach the city I love, City of Riviera Beach. I applied to become the interim, because I thought the City could use my expertise. A week later I interviewed and the job was given to the other candidate. However, to my surprise the story was about me. The same media, who coined “City in Turmoil” was not insinuating that my credential was not real and that my Doctorate in Business Administration made me “unqualified” to become the city manager. Though, I spoke to the “TV reporter” Wanda Moore there was no retraction and I was left over the next few months defending myself. Therefore, I started doing my own investigation, only to find that the strategy was plot to push the “former managers” agenda.
Here is what I’ve found, Wanda Moore, Johnathon Evans, Mayor Masters, and Kashamba Anderson are friends, with hidden agendas and is using a shifting hand strategy to point aim of unfounded “corruption” on the council who fired him.
Reasons for his dismissal – Councilman Davis said “there were numerous things that was asked of Mr. Evans that he didn’t do”. Councilwoman Hubbard said, “Mr. Evans wanted to have total control over the city”. Councilwoman Pardo said, “Mr. Evans wanted to raise taxes on her district alone, that when she didn’t support, he was trying to rally support behind her back”. These are all documented proof and is warranted for his firing, which didn’t need a reason, as we live in an “at will” state.
However, the Media Strategy that is being used was discussed by Noam Chomsky, an American philosopher and a political activist, who found 10 most powerful strategies that media use to manipulate people.

As I read this, I thought check, check, and more checks. Then I knew I had to share with the public.
Now, these strategies have been used for decades on people. But, why would these people use this in our City? Our resources. They might even think we are unconscious.
After noticing what was happening, I decided to take a stand. I didn’t want to be mindless and be swayed with everything the media said. I encourage you to do the same. It’s time to move forward. Let’s rise together.
